Create Nextiva User

Creating a New User in Nextiva

 

Navigate to https://www.nextiva.com and sign in with your admin account

 

 

On the top menu bar of the Nextiva home page, choose Users

 

 

At the Users Overview page, choose Add Users

 

 

 

Complete these fields as shown on the Create User page

     1. First Name

     2. Last Name

     3. Username (firstname.lastname is typical)

     4. Email

           Make sure to check Email Voicemails

     5. Location

           No need to choose the Time Zone, it will automatically be selected based on chosen location

     6. Phone Number

           Preferably choose a phone number using an area code consistent with the new user's primary work location

 

Under the Phone Number dropdown, there is the Package dropdown. Choose NextOSAdditionalLineLocal

 

 Click the green Save & Continue button

 

 

 

 

 At this following page, click Save & Continue again

 

 

 

 

 

On the user's page, scroll down to and expand Device

 

 

Setup the Device section

     1. Under Available Devices, choose Generic SIP Phone

           If a Generic SIP is not assigned, users of the Nextiva app only (no phyiscal phone) will not be able to access voicemails.

     2. Click the Generate button

          This password will not be needed. It's just a required step to save this section.

 

When finished, click the green Save button

 

 

 

 

Continue scrolling down the user's page

     1. Expand the Voicemail section

     2. Find the small pencil icon to change settings

 

 

These settings may be changed at the user's request, but default settings are shown below.

Confirm the email address is correct and Send Attachment Of Message is checked

 

 

 

Now it's time to assign a license to the user.

 

 

Click your name at the top-right of the page and choose My Account

 

 

On the My Account Overview page, choose Licensing

 

 

Next to *NextOS Pro Plus Upgrade* click Assign

 

 

 On the assign page

     1. Search for the user's name

     2. Check the box next to the correct user

 

Click the green Save button

 

 

 

Last, we must contact Nextiva Support to setup Call Recording for the user. 

 

 


In order to do so, use the Chat With an Expert feature at the bottom-right of the page

 

 

Click Start Chat

 

 

Provide your email address and PIN as requested

 

 

Choose Technical Support and User Setup / Settings

 

 

Choose Something Else

 

 

A live agent will now join the chat and ask you to confirm your name, account number, and PIN one more time.

 

 

The account number and PIN can be found on the Nextiva homepage

 

 

 

From this point, explain to the agent that you would like call recording setup for a user. They may ask for the username and/or the phone number.
After some time, they will ask you to place a test call for ~60 seconds to test the call recording.
